Regular perusers of my burbling should know that I hold the deep, wigged-out funky house spewed from the loins of San Francisco’s Short Bus Kids [although Lance Leber – half the duo with DK Watts – relocated to San Francisco last year]. Product-wise they’re at it like rabbits; happy, bouncy and sexed-up with huge ears. The title cut is a typically funked-up outing with elasticated bassline topped with disembodied voices, something the mighty Derrick Carter might put in his set or tea. The Zip Yo Lip ups the party quotient. ‘Want Your Love’ and ‘Let It Roll’ are deep and throbbing, while ‘Freestyle’ jacks it up, adds sax and rapping. Off the melon whoopee supreme all round.
