It’s been a while since St Germain graced my headphones with his brand of world music and blues blended with slo mo deep house, but here he is with ‘Real Blues EP’ and as expected, it’s a sprawling, Americana tinged beauty. IN the instrumentation african township notes blend with blue grass plucked guitar, featherlight glockenspiel and bamboo hits. The beats tickle your feet with their twitchy syncopation whilst the vocal has the ad libbed blues moan and drawl down to a t. Can’t wait to play this on radio and in my Ibiza beach / pool sessions on Monday and Tuesday. Pure class.
