After the Essential New Tune buzz surrounding the Data single ‘Everything Is Beautiful’ (why are the label dragging their heels on this obvious crossover hit?), the protagonist that is Static Revenger returns with a new side project in collaboration with Ramin Sakurai, from the Chill Out Masters, Supreme Beings Of Leisure, Duke Mushroom, and producer Danny Saber, (who’s credentials include working with Bowie and U2, as well being a founding member of Black Grape). Elevated from ‘Love Song Surprise’, his recent Update Album of the Week, ‘Satellite’ is a cinematic journey in the vein of Postal Service and Fisherspooner that oozes of Moroder and Oakey qulaities in their Electric Dreams glory (check the clever video on YouTube that parodies a handful of classic sci-fi movies). New mixes come via fellow SR disciples The Scumfrog and Sutil Records’ head David Gausa, who add twisted electronica brilliance and haunting burbling subtly to their respectively retoolings.
