Jangling folk guitar driven, euphoric, peak-time house seems to be a thing these days and Style Of Eye’s ‘Love Looks’ is a superb example. The Original version is chock full of rave synths, and fx-ed lead vocal hook, white noise and dead stop breakdowns. You can’t fault a lyric that says ‘hey, hey, I wanna see the best of you’ either. Add a daisy chain of remixes from Laidback Luke (moshpit menace), Sunstar (shimmering, stuttering and bright), Movement (flanged and transformed to within an inch of its life), So Japan (slow slow quick quick slow) and the best of the bunch Pang! Who drop the tempo for a leisurely ramble through a sunlit field and you have a package that heralds the end of the summer and the beginning of the autumn clubbing season in fine style. ‘Love Looks’ pretty good from where I’m sitting.
