Sugardaddy comes up trumps with this partial version of Man Friday’s – still sounding radical today – ‘Love Honey, Love Heartache’ from the mid 80’s. Three mixes to choose from on the pair’s debut for the label with the aptly titled ‘Electro’ version proving to be the most infectious. The distinctive spoken vocal refrain, retro handclaps and synth lines all combine to let the track carve out a niche all of its own to make perfect sense of funky electronica. Impressive.
