A song about an evening in a Japanese city, made by an Israeli producer, released on a French label and reviewed by an English journalist living in America! Okay, now we’ve established that this truly is a global dance community, the talented Mr Shani should take centre-stage. After releases on Crosstown Rebels, Cr2 and Breastfed he crosses the Channel for this ethereal soundscape that conjures up a myriad of emotions and images, all held together by a haunting riff that never lets go. Bittersweet and totally irresistible, and with Mathieu Bouthier & Muttonheads adding to the analogue allure and ITO going more for the minimal market, it’s fully deserving of our five men rating.
