Remember when afterhours house parties were all about switching off the lights, letting the strobe circle, overdosing the dancefloor on white fog whilst the dj played a bit slower, deeper and trippy with a spoken / diva vocal to twist your head that bit more ? Well, Jungle Line reminds me of those times so much I had to wipe a nostalgic tear from my eye after my first listen. It’s the sort of raw edged, skittering snares and african polyrhythmic release that Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia and Angel Moraes would have made 15 to 20 minute soundscapes out of and sent every dancer worth their fresh towels go batshit in the process. Step up Eats Everything for a cleaner, sub-heavy, soaring acid reworking that takes it to the centre of every current tech house dj’s usb folder selection. This is a back to the future flashback with tyre burn and smoking hair included.
