This is more like it. Black Vinyl does it once again with this seductive second release from Bob Marbach and Taro Fujita. But while all this may be sounding smooth and deep it still very much packs a punch from its pounding kick drum and funky percussion. The stunning thing with ‘Simple Things’ is however the combination of jazzy keys and dreamy vocals with the rhythm to give it its own individual slant. There’s also a great ‘Dub’ version and with an emotive ‘Reprise’ which highlights all that Jazzy energy this proves to be a cut above the rest.
