If you like a safe bet then don’t stray from the Teenagr Mutants & PurpleDisco Machine’s ‘The Path’. It’s a slo-mo disco groove up whisked creamily into a staccato Maceo Parker sax loop, an insistent trilling flute which floats, flows and flies into, up and over the infinity looped, two-note bassline, some bone-snapping handclaps and a preacher vocal that will make you want to confess to sins you never committed. It’s a simple but deadly terrace groover that will have people shamelessly shazam-ing your set. It sounds great on radio too. Just saying.
