The combination of artists might raise a few eyebrows, but this is an unlikely combination that works really well. The Mystery Jets’ vocals go well with the bounce of The Count & Sinden’s beats, which here are commendably restrained to allow the song to break through. There are some lyrical gems, too – with the chorus realising that “we never had a heart to heart” and the verse suddenly vulnerable, “while you go off to look for friends in the dark, I try to hang on to my drink and my heart”. Give it a couple of listens and you’ll fall under its spell – a summer anthem in the making.
