There are those moments in life when a record makes your jaw do that ratchet thing and unhinge right down to the ground then roll back up like a roller blind. This is onesuch record. Steve Bug’s ‘Dirty Fingers’ mix takes this spoken vocal / semi rap hip houser into chunky monkey territory, with its white, dark and milk chocolate squares standing proud on the outside whilst enjoying their sticky, melted, gooey goodness on the inside. Joyce Muniz delivers a deeper, funky roller that has a chewy caramel middle and a crisp biscuity percussive base. It rocks in every way. For me, it’s the sort of record that makes me want to muscle in on the nearest party and kick the dj off the decks just so I can play it. Yeah that. And then some.
