TYKEN FEATURING DARRYL D’BONNEAU
DON’T EVER STOP DANCING
TRUNKFUNK

Belatedly reviewed but easily one of the biggest records with me for the past three months having wowed crowds on three continents. This terrifically meaty Swedish production rides a piano loop ‘borrowed’ from Keni Burke’s ‘Let Somebody Love You’ from the early ‘80s, while D’Bonneau turns in his best vocal since pairing with Barbara Tucker on ‘Stop Playing With My Mind’; vocally sounding uncannily like Leroy Burgess on a vintage Aleem/Greg Carmichael/Patrick Adams production from the heady boogie era. A class act: the piano chords, brass stabs and Darryl’s optimistic vocal make this an instant feel-good number and dancefloor winner.
