Acid house continues to be alive and better than ever under guiding hands of X-Press 2. This track apparently started life as an unwanted hip-hop remix by the trio, gaining in momentum through their do sets. They decided to re-cut it with Afrika Bambaataa, giving us the 10 minute bare-basics tribal thumper that is “Fire”, minimal techno undertones and AB’s chants driving it to epic status. Rocky turns in a festival pleasing full-vocal breaks centred remix that, if you listen closely enough, you can probably hear the sound of a kitchen sink bouncing off the speakers. Fantastically effective, though.
