Simian Mobile Disco make a triumphant return with a very clever and catchy slice of glitch pop, that comes over like a well sussed Justin Timberlake track that’s a bit rough round the edges. “Audacity Of Huge” lists over the top must have items such as a Cool Aid filled swimming pool, a Damien Hurst telephone, Joey Ramone, Mama Cass, and a book collection with an autographed James Joyce. This name checking tongue in cheek wit is performed by Chris Keating, loaded with infectious melodies and worked over sizzling electronics packed full of hooks. Put simply it’s massive. On the remix front Chicken Lips get down to some serious jackin’ infused with mutant disco moves, while Dusty Girly (Kid) delves deep loosening up the grey matter and Naum Gabo goes all gritty Bobby O high energy on us. Festival season has well and truly kicked in.
