Man Duo are Finnish producers Jaakko Eino Kalevi and Long Sam, and for their new album ‘Orbit’ they have recruited vocalist Sean Nicholas Savage. It proves to be a sound move, as he complements their incredibly versatile approach. On occasions with this album you feel like Don Henley has wandered into the room (especially in ‘The Middle’) while elsewhere Kraftwerk extend a strong influence (‘Vanessa’). What makes the album so enjoyable is the way Man Duo harness these different influences into something very much their own, making really positive music as they go. ‘Ile’s Dream’ is a great example of the euphoric electronic tracks they can make, in this case a song that demands to be heard again and again. With catchy hooks aplenty and a wide variety of styles, ‘Orbit’ comes very highly recommended, a sure fire way of making the day that much brighter.
