D Edge is the leading club in Brazil, and as well as a main label associated with the club, they also run OLGA, a more conceptual outlet for music designed specifically to be heard on the clubs great sound system. Next up on the label is Manglus, a Uruguayan artist with a ever growing profile.
Things open up with Vengo Del Sur, just over eight minutes of trippy synthetic house music, with wonky drums and chords, watery sounds and weird textures all designed to freak you out. Bisback then spends ten minutes layering up toms, subtle drums and intricate bits of sound design into something late night and deep, absorbing and cerebral. This one then gets remixed by Dee Bufatto, who keeps it slinky and stripped back but injects it with some creepy voices and wooden hits. All in all this is a brilliantly economical but efficient EP.
