Milk & Sugar with Barbara Tucker ‘My Lovin’ (MILK & SUGAR)

I know Mike Milk & Steven Sugar for more than a decade now and I must say in their beginnings they have been a huge influence in the German speaking part of Europe as they established a rich, funky sound and also their signings on their label have hit the spot. Lately they have released some tracks, I personally didn’t feel as much, simply because they were too commercial for my personal taste. Even better it is to see, that the boys are back serving up some absolute fire with ‘My Lovin’, which features awesome vocals from the one and only Barbara Tucker. Warm, classic house sounds, all tied together emotive piano keys and a superb bass all work together rather nicely, but it is the remix package here that make Milk & Sugar’s 196th release a special one. House music staple Oliver Dollar steps up a gear on his remix by injecting flowing 4/4 house beats, filled with effortless groove and warm melodies. Yet deep, yet funky, yet driving- it is a trademark filtered groove offering from the man who knows a thing or two about the thing we call House. His Vocal Dub is even preferable-a serious break does some justice! Finally it’s an irresistible mix from Mat.Joe who should hush the last critics as their version is near perfection when we talk Tech House with funky elements! Wicked!
