By now there is a good chance plenty of house heads will be onto the High The Recordings label. It’s a place where tech, deep house, sci-fi sounds and more all inform the grooves and artists like Mongo are the ones behind the beats. Following on from a previous release on the label comes hits new one, with a remix from Athea closing out the three track package.
Spacewalker is first out of the blocks. This one is a driving tech cut with nice hits and plenty of air in the high hats. Wordless vocals are stitched into the groove and there is drama in the breakdowns and big synths. The Anthea remix removes some of the tension and makes it a more laid back tune with a cerebral feel. Bend The Knee is the last original and is a speed out track with great synth work and rubbery beats. It’s atmospheric and poignant and sure to cast a spell on all who hear it.
