The old warning bells have been known to go off when monks’ choirs pop up on dance records but this debut from Russian duo Freza and DJ Flash manages to get by via its motoring acid house groove and a starting riff not unlike the Sabres treatment of the Chemicals’ ‘Song To The Siren’. It also boasts a riotous remix from Nick Fanciulli and Droyd Andy Chatterley’s Buick Project, which does away with the choir, adds ‘puts your hands up in the air’ police warning and a shimmering, acid-wall chuff-chuff momentum. Later it’s joined by a ravey fuzz-riff and ultimately turns into a very floor-friendly venture indeed.
