Portuguese imprint Sog Chrome has come to the fore this year with a convincing sound that has no complex merging prog, trance and electro. Here the slightly trancey original doesn’t convince much but Steve May’s remix goes deeper and dubbier without loosing any oomph (atmospheric gated pads, distorted synths, gritty bass). His version of ‘Ritmix’ takes you on an evocative ride that makes sense all the way.
