Starting off with a pumping groove, a buzzy synth and musical loops, ‘Bad’, sounding like a Morales’ Red Zone mix on steroids, is so well produced it hurts. Building and building with intensity it eventually develops into a dramatic and melodic section (warm b-line, piano anchor and astute pizzs). With its spot-on drum programming and excellent use of fx, this is a fairly menacing trip yet totally uplifting when all falls into place (129 BPM). Who said deep couldn’t be peak time?
