Guiseppe Morabito is Alex Neri’ sometime producer/engineer and on hearing ‘Babe’ (under his Abyss guise) you can hear the Planet Funk connection. Based around a loop of Duran Duran’s ‘Planet Earth’, the track mixes electro/trancey synths, guitar arpeggios, live bass and has a proper band feel that makes it sound different from the rest of the prog production. On the flip G-Ek’s ‘El Palmar Landscape’ and its funky keys feel even more Mediterranean and sun-drenched.
