MOOGWAI
VIOLA 2005
PLATIPUS

Now working under the Chab moniker, Moogwai used to knock wonderful euro-trance graced by some of the strongest melodies the genre ever came up with. So it was only a matter of time before his 2000 ‘Viola’ track (and classic riff) would make a comeback. Best mix is from Brisky who opts for a commercial take on MIKE’s hypnotic style with an intense piercing synth and a killer classical chord progression that could drive the floor forever. The Tektonik mix is more on a commercial euro-trance tip. On Silver Blue’s ‘Step Back’ the Silver Bullet remix is not excessively subtle but will sure do the job in the big trance rooms (139 BPM). Slicing a classical melody with ecstatic pizzs punctuating the authoritarian beat, this is euro-rave with enough depth to be taken seriously. In comparison the Sureno remix feels far too linear.
