Now here’s something a little different on Avicii’s Le7els imprint. Spencer Brown delivers a two track ep that sounds like it takes its lead from the amazing Eric Prydz. ‘Double Down’ has a melodic, progressive sweep but adds a funky bassline swagger. It had me at the key change and pitch shift around 1 minute 50 but there are other moments that will undoubtedly touch you in your special place. ‘Chalice’ is a more straight forward, euphoric, synth-led, arpeggiated progressive ride with rushy white noise drive effects and the odd drum roll or two. Two choice cuts from the home of hits.
