‘Hula Dance’ comes from Jonny Rock, a dj with an optimistic grin and a bright sparkle in the eye and it shows. Fresh and kinda balearic, this is a different type of tune. The original mix is a housey groove layered with those Sueno Latino’s bird noises, ecstatic dubbed-out fx, a catchy (yet discreet) synth hook and some of kind of traditional singing (Hawa•an?). On the flip Luke Solomon goes for a more after-hours approach, an hypnotic groove that bridges the sexy gap between Patrick Cowley and Lindstrom & Prins Thomas.
