There’s no beating around the bush, the original of ‘Never Be The Same’ (101 BPM) is quite simply New Order’s ‘Your Silent Face’ (off their second LP ‘Power, Corruption & Lies’) veering towards Ultravox circa ‘Vienna’. Going straight back to the early eighties’ collision of post-punk gloom and bubbling technology, this homage to yesterday’s synth-pop stands out for sounding sincere, vocalist Collingwood not trying too hard is also a definite plus. There are several electro-prog remixes coming from the guys themselves, Richard Dinsdale and Trafik.
