After a shift in makeup Punx Soundcheck look like they are firmly back in the groove with this gigantic release. Bravely taking on Krush’s ’87 vocal classic but keeping things authentic in the process. Square-wave basslines, signature 808 drum patterns and almost identical vocals from Lexii Embers are mixed nicely in more of a remake than a remix, as to speak. On the remix pop icon Boy George locks horns with Roland Faber for a more energetic attack, still lashed with 80’s flare but with a nice rolling bass groove and the 2018 floor in mind. Bonus track ‘All This Time’ is well worth a listen too but for me the magic was served already, this has to be my favourite Punx Soundcheck release in years! Oh, and Boy George also hand drew the front cover, just in case you were wondering!
