Those genre straddling chameleons are back with more retro infused sounds. Whether Garage, House, Nu-Wave or their notable affiliation to London’s Electro-Clash legacy, Punx Soundcheck’s in-escapable penchant for studio uproar is never far from sight. Turning out a very 90’s sounding vocal track here on their home label Hottwerk, with heavy nods to Mylo, Soft Cell, Happy Mondays and lots in between. Type-303 takes things more underground with squelchy Hip-House acid mayhem, and CPX’s remix could well be a forgotten white label in Sasha’s Renaissance box. Fun music yet again from these criminally underrated and long standing veterans of dance music.
