Rachel McFarlane & Nick Hussey – ‘Let Nothing’ – (DEFECTED)

Tracks like this one don’t hit us too often these days. We all know the reasons and there are no real changes to that situation seen on the horizon, but let’s be happy that tunes like ‘Let Nothing’ still exist: Extraordinary slices of music, that REALLY stand out from the rest.

One of the reasons this is the case, might be the fact, that both Rachel McFarlane and Nick Hussey are around in the music scene for a very long time. They both have had huge success in the glory times of House during the 90s (Rachel as singer of the chart smashing ‘Let The Music Lift You Up’ by Loveland and Nick Hussey as a remixer of timeless piano driven tracks like Chante Moore’s ‘Free’ or Jodeci’s ‘Won’t Waste You’).

This might already separate the two from many others as they know what they are doing. The track itself is quite minimal in its programming, you won’t find massive powerful drums or an ultra heavy bassline, but what you get here is a beautiful SONG. Rachel’s vocals match perfectly with Nick’s sweet but still up to date music and all in all generate a very emotional vocal house track which could have been released 20 years ago already. Currently only one mix available, this one is suitable for classic remixers who also know about their game. Frankie Knuckles would have loved that one. That’s for sure! BIG!
