Taking on a classic such as Dexter Wansel’s ‘The Sweetest Pain can be a mammoth task – as comparison are inevitable, and when the bar has already been set to ‘maximin height’, where else can you go.
Well, this is how you it, Louise delivers a wonder and beautiful vocal over a recreated version updating the expansive soulful musical message for today’s dance floors. Produced by Quantize Record’s Gary Hudgins, the Main Mix channels a soulful sweet retro funky feel turned up with horns and strings flourishes.
Aided by mixes from MoBlack Soul, John Morales and a ‘Vocal Groove Dub’ by DJ Spen completing the package with an emotive mix that meshes the vocal and grooves in uplifting style. For Vinyl lovers there may be still time to snap up her first ever vinyl release – a double header of ‘The Sweetest Pain’ flanked by ‘You Gotta Be’.
A beautiful vocal, production and perfect remixes. Essential for summer 2018.
