SER036 – LOQUACE – TRANSITIONS – (SERIALISM) – (END OF MAY)

Cesare Marchese aka Cesare vs Disorder runs the Serialism label out of Berlin, and it is one with something of a cult following. As minimal music makes its way back to the fore once more, this label and its artists are right at the front on the scene. Next up to contribute their wares to the ever growing and ever better cannon is Loquace, a French DJ and producer with a great grasp of groove and sound design that is sure to get under your skin.

Opening up proceedings is Keep Your Seat Belt, an excellently produced minimal number that will slip and slide into any set and make the whole floor start grooving away. Bouzouk is all spinning hi hats, sci fi sounds and gloopy bass that interweave tightly and get right into your soul. It is spaced out dancing music of the highest order and then Mike Shannon flips into into something a little fuller, more intense and deeper and more direct. It is just as brilliant in his hands, though. Next up is another sure fire winner with fans of slick underground electronic funk, with its diving beats, writhing synths and polished aesthetics all coming over excellently. Last but not least, the pick of the bunch is Plume de Paon, a more spaced out affair, with some lush spiralling pads encircling you in the based metal world of soft drums, paddy rhythms and breezy, cool as you like vibes.
