Magic Powder EP
Forbidden Fruit

The Paris-based house chanteuse made her debut in 2002 with a single produced by ultimate house music pioneer Larry Heard. She was a bit of a pioneer herself as ‘Il Parlait Pas Francais’ was one of the first house singles to be sung in French. Since then Hannah, who sings and DJs at the city’s Kube club, has carved an esoteric but irresistible path which consolidated on 2005’s Rosanova album but now roars into the stratosphere on this often jawdropping outing. Recording in France, Switzerland, Brazil, Spain, Germany and Italy with producers including Jamie Lewis, Ian Carey,Ralf Gum, DJ Merne, Dutty Boyz and Alfred Azzetto, Hannah manages to mate her sensual tones with euphoric disco choruses over a more pronounced house bedrock to stunning effect. It often recalls the Paris-New York mutant disco outings on ZE but there are also elements of Chicago house, German minimal and Salsoul exploding through tracks like ‘Jungo’, ‘I Love America’, ‘Jazz Samba’ and upcoming single ‘Mr Jim’. Apart from anything it’s also the sexiest sounding album of the summer. Disco heaven from a major talent.
