Dan Snaith – Caribou to most of us – also operates as Daphni. This is his first compilation, a set of 27 shimmering originals and remixes direct from the studio, blended together into a continuous set but not mixed in the style of a DJ. In a strange way that gives it a less clinical, more human element, and Snaith works the floor with some jumpy beats and the head with some dazzling loops – all first hand and dropped for the first time. It provides a kind of new artist album / compilation blend, a set of vibrant new tracks that are immediately fit for purpose. Caribou fans will love it, and Fabric can celebrate one of their best releases of the year for sure.
