Detroit Swindle’s Heist label is one of those imprints you can rely on. Nearly every single output they had over the last 10 years was a bullet and what I like about the people working behind the curtains is the fact, that they do proper artist management like it used to be back in the day. So it’s no surprise at all that acts like Crackazat, Nachtbreaker, Demuir, Perdu, Fouk, Orlando Voorn or Detroit Swindle themselves appear on this new compilation. And it’s no surprise that the tracks are all of the highest quality you can expect. Exploring the more electronic & hi-tech side of Heist, there’s Orlando Voorn’s 90s track ‘Tenderness’, and ‘Space Designer’ from undercover artist Lore of the Samurai. For a bit of soul in the package,a beautiful vocal cut by Marina Trench featuring French Algerian singer Sabrina Bellaouel and one of the standout tracks from Dam Swindle’s former live show: ‘Sugar Sugar’ are added. My personal pick must be the very sweet ‘Philippine Sunrise’ by one of my fave artists, Demuir and ‘We Know’ by Crackazat, who shows all his talent within five and a half minutes time (and has a superb album out on the label as well by the way). All in all this is a very nice compilation of key tracks from one of the best House labels out there. Grab it!
