Ukrainian producer Vlad Jet delivers a dark, progressive and bittersweet EP titled ‘Velvet’ for Luxembourg’s Lauter Unfug label. Set to a laid back tech groove, ‘Velvet’ is as lush as its name would suggest, with a moody undercurrent that bubbles under dreamy melodies and melancholy drenched synth hooks. Cologne’s Cross & Avocado ramp up the energy, delivering some quirky Tech House action for peak time; and closing out the package is the eery ‘Bandura’ – a love note to the traditional Ukrainian instrument which organically flows over deep electronic soundscapes.
