Eddie Kid

1. Give It Back (Grant Nelson Remix) Gaelle Boss Records
This has been one of my top, if not favourite records for a good few months. Grant Nelson manages to capture a very driving, chunky and up-to-date sound without taking any soul or funk from the song.

2. Shut Up And Drive (Wideboys Remix) Rihanna Mercury Records
The Wideboys have brought a whole new light on this tune by taking a great pop song and turning it into a rocking club track. This one always gets the crowd going.

3. Happiness (Mark Wilkinson Kidology Mix) Sound Design Gusto Records
This is a great electro mix of an old classic tune. The big fat bass hook builds and builds until the tune finally breaks down into the original organ and vocals. The crowd go wild every time!

3. ET (Peplab Classix Treat) Peplab 3Beat Blue
I love this one because it’s quite different from most stuff out at the moment. They have blended a great trancey riff with a really bouncy house groove.

4. You Don’t Know (Shazerk & Kim Jofferey Mix) Stonebridge In & Out France
This has a great breakdown full of uplifting vocals and trancey chords which builds up to one of the dirtiest bits of electro I’ve heard for a while! Sounds brilliant in a club.

5. Freak Like (original mix) Roger Prinz   FBI
A cool, catchy vocal sung by a male and female, backed up with a really tough and groovy piece of house music. Seems to work well in a set, whatever time I’m playing.

6. Shut The Fuck Up (Mouth to Mouth Remix) STFU Tiger Records
This one is so effective because of its simplicity. It has a really bouncy electro groove with a proper in your face spoken female vocal which is always guaranteed to get the room jumpin’.

7. Girls (Micky Slim’s Bomb Squad Mix)       Calvin Harris         Do It Yourself Italy
Everyone knows how great the original is so it’s only right there should be a brilliant club mix as well. Micky Slim takes it quite dark here but keeps the tune nice and funky.

8. L A Girls (Dj Disciple New York Sexy Mix) David Tort & Dj Tuff Meets Angel De Frutos Catch 22
I like this one because the vocals are quite unusual. It has a really bouncy electro groove with a cheeky bass line that will have the crowd dancing every time.

9. Flex (Dave Spoon Reflex) Dizzee Rascal XL Recordings
This is a brilliant example of two styles crossing over. Dizzee Rascal’s rap vocals and Dave Spoon’s dirty electro sound work perfect together to create a new style entirely!

10. Better Begin (Amo And Navas Remix) Tocadisco feat Lennart A Salomon Superstar Recordings
A great rocky, male vocal backed up by a simple but very powerful musical hook. It has a lot of driving energy to it and is always fun to play out!

Eddie Kid featuring Leo The Lion ‘Who Is The One?’ is released on Kidology Records on 10th December
