This has fast become a real secret weapon in my sets – the whole track is just solid from the start and with the breakdown and that genius little vocal that just grabs you when its kicks in it’s one of those tunes that’s gonna be hammered by everyone for months to come
Kink – Perth – Running Back
Been a big fan of Kink for years and this one caught me a little by surprise as its far more disco than I was expecting his sound to be – its got a real vibe of classic Bangalter and for that reason I’m already sold – This goes off everytime its dropped!!
Apres – Till Your Love Runs Out – Nothing Else Matters
Quite a melodic one this and something that gets really stuck in my head everytime I hear it – a great tune from a great producer!
London Fields – Colour To My Life (Sonny Wharton Darkdancer Dub) – Friday Fox Recordings
When I heard the original I was instantly hooked so this became a really fun remix to do. Initially I began the intro with something reminiscent of Underworld with those haunting looped vocals but decided to add a bit of a twist to the whole affair and switch it up when the bassline kicks in with a nod to Jacques La Cont – hopefully this translates to the dancefloor when you hear it, its certainly been working for me whilst testing it out.
Kinnerman – Horns & Hats – ElRow Music
This is a real fav for me as it reminds me a lot of some of the early tribal grooves I used to play back in the vinyl days – just locks you in and keeps it rocking from start to finish! Great work from Kinnerman as always.
Kings Of Tomorrow – So Alive (Titan Road Edit) – N/A
Titan Road is making some amazing tracks at the moment and this one is no exception – a wicked edit and fast becoming a great dancefloor weapon in my sets!
Niceteed, Rique’ – Don’t Stop (Sanchez & Narvaez Remix) – Chapeau Music
Sanchez & Narvaez are two guys from South America that are really on the rise right now and this remix is proof of exactly why! Every set I’ve played over the last 12months there’s pretty much always been a track from these guys in there somewhere.
SQUARE FACTORY – My Turn – Whartone Records
Got sent this a few months ago from a producer friend in Japan and instantly had to sign it to my label – it’s quite relentless in energy and groove and works great at peak moments during a gig.
Dom Kane – Psycho Schematics – Mau5trap Venture Limited
Another bonafide winner on Mau5trap from the talented Dom Kane – definitely someone to keep your eye on over the year ahead.
