Big tunes from the big hitters
1. “Footrocker” Mightyfools (Revealed)
It takes a pretty special production to sound super-large compared to the all the other fat EDM out there. But this still absolutely kicks off every time we play it. An absolute beast!
2. “Bring it Back feat. Vanbot” Marcel Woods (Spinnin)
Peak-time genius. Sounds like Abba and Madonna donated all their best moments to a track and then Marcel took that track and turned it into this modern clubbing monster. A good-times euphoric belter.
3. ”Make it Bun Dem” Skrillex ft. Damian Marley (Big Beat)
Putting the dub back into dubstep. Mixing an authentic blues party sound via the Marley DNA with the irresistible cone-melting genius of Skrillex, this looks like a great collab on paper…and delivers fully!
4. “Tsunami” DVBBS (DOORN)
A triplet style classic. Tsunami sounds like a pretty brave title, makes you expect some seriously overwhelming bass and groove… but one listen to this and you are truly swept away. Huge sound and really nice mood.
5. ”All Night” Camo + Krooked (Hospital)
When it comes to cooking up fresh sounds in the sound-lab you can always count on the drum’n’bass krew to deliver. A really beautiful, evocative slice of nu-skool d’n’b here that foregoes knocking you out with heavy beats, instead picks you up on a river of lush bass and takes you off somewhere extremely nice. Masterclass.
6. ”Animals” Martin Garrix (Spinnin)
Surely this is a track that needs no introductions. It’s got everything you need to keep the dance-floor rocking, weight, groove and melody. Hard to believe Mr Garrix is only 17 …Good for him!
7. “Wake Me Up” Avicii (Virgin)
This track is an absolute crossover monster, Avicii could have started a whole new genre with this…You’ve heard of EDM well this CDM (Country Dance Music)
8. “Count on Me” Chase & Status (Mercury Records)
We love Old School & we love Chase & Status, this track takes us back to our raving days. It’s nice to see the Old school flavours creeping back in again. Nice one lads!
9. “Champs” Moguai (Size records)
This track has the perfect title. There’s something really epic about this track that really makes you want to punch the air like a maniac. It’s been a summer favourite of ours.
10. “Strong” London Grammar (Ministry of Sound)
OK, so it’s not a pumping dancefloor filler.. But, this track is bloody marvellous. Gloriously uplifting without sound miserable and moody like Lana Del Ray, in a word, Beautiful.
