Trainspotting with Abco

1 Abco & Micfreak – Higher (Original Mix) Unquantize Recordings

This track is all about that classic house piano – when the progression comes in it will set off a crowd! The call and response of the high and low pitched vocals also just give it this extra energy that I love.

2 Earth n Days feat. Terri B! – Walk On Water (Extended Club Mix) Glasgow Underground

Earth n Days know how to bring the soul into house production. This track just has that feel-good vocal that hits you in your bones and makes you want to dance. The addition of the cowbell loop on the percussion gives it an even better groove.

3 Sinner & James – Just Wanted to Dance (Original Mix) Blockhead Recordings

Love this record for a dance floor warm up that gets you vibing and loosening up your body. I’m a sucker for a simple yet effective vocal loop.

4 Richard Payton – You Know I Know (Original Mix) Unquantize Recordings

The swing percussion on this track gives it a killer underground swag. I love the classic house vocal sample and how it builds as the track progresses.

5 Blind Truth, Tata and Toney – Why Can’t We See (Scott Diaz Sunchaser Join Hands Mix) Unkwn Rec

Scott Diaz puts his signature sound on a classic. Emotional deep house vibes with uplifting riffs. Will never get tired of seeing how producers take their own spin on this one!

6 Low Steppa feat. Stevie Neale – Like A Fool (Boiling Point Extended Remix) Armada Deep

Low Steppa is such a great producer and this track really shows it. The chugging gritty bassline puts this right at peak territory. Absolutely insane vocal track on this record too that you can’t help but sing along.

7 Kyle Kinch feat. Dr. Swingluv – The Request (Extended Mix) Basement Sound

I love the MC work on this track by Dr. Swingluv! The way his vocal interplays with the bassline and female vocal sample in this one are just fun, it keeps you wanting more. A proper underground tune.

8 Trouble Within – Back On You (Original Mix) Phoenix Music Inc

Trouble Within is a fresh duo to keep an eye on, these guys really have some great sound design in their records and this one is no exception. The UK House sound is strong with some really nice synth stabs and complimenting vocal chops that keep you dancing.

9 John Summit & GUZ (NL) –  Thin Line (Extended Mix) D4 Dance

This guy has been on an absolute tear lately with his releases. A proper modern take on a classic that will be played on dance floors for years to come. The piano arrangement is perfectly executed along with a really catchy and unique synth top line that sparkles throughout the track.

10 The Shapeshifters & Billy Porter – Finally Ready (Original Mix) Glitterbox Recordings

A true future classic right here. Twenty years from now people will still be closing out the dancefloor with it. And if Billy Porter’s insanely powerful vocal wasn’t enough, the horn and string arrangement put this track over the top – absolute gold! Fall in love on the dance floor with this record.

Abco & Micfreak – Higher (Incl. DJ Spen Mixes) is out now on Unquantize Recordings.
