Harry Romero is a real legend in the dance music world. He has been turning out big tracks for many years and now he has been snapped up by the Do Not Sleep label. This is a label born from an Ibizan party of the same name and it has already served up some big hitters. This new one is no different.
It comes with remixes from Leon and Hector Couto and one original from Romero. That is Soul Is Another, which is a full fat house track with a bobbling and bulbous bassline that drives the whole thing along. Over seven minutes it evolves with dark vocals and withering synths that lend it a spacey feel. Leon is an Italian who churns out party starting cuts on labels like VIVa and here he flips it into a chunky bit of house funk that is playful and booty shaking. Hector is well tied to this label as well as being resident at the party. His track hits really hard with elastic drums, punchy kicks and lithe stabs. It is fresh and physical and will make anyone sweat.

Having previously released his music on such labels as Toolroom, Suara and Circus Recordings, to name a few, legendary New York DJ and producer Harry Romero is next in line for release on Darius Syrossian’s Do Not Sleep imprint with his excellent ’Soul Is Another’ EP which features two remixes from Hector Couto and Leon.
The title track ‘Soul Is Another’ is a certified monster, which is made up from a giant, bass heavy core. The gritty, spoken word vocal sample which repeats the phrase “money is one thing, but soul is another” sits perfectly behind a series of extra crispy hi-hats to create the ultimate peak-time track for DJs and party goers alike.
The first of the two remixes comes from Spanish DJ and producer Hector Couto. The first thing Couto does is up the tempo, to create a hi-energy track with a truly classic house feel. The soft yet powerful shakers and hi-hats add to the rolling bassline to ensure every last person on the dance floor is moving. The second and final remix comes from Leon, who expertly strips the original track back into a terrace friendly, tribal affair. His playful clap patterns, deep, rumbling bassline and frequent bass drops are sure to keep the clubbers on their toes across club land this summer.
