Thomas Fehlmann
Gute Luft
Kompakt

This is actually a soundtrack, written to accompany the 24H Berlin TV documentary – but it is also an artist album, with Fehlmann stamping his musical personality firmly on proceedings. Being Fehlmann that means some extremely atmospheric house music, put together with a hint of dub, while many of the tracks here have a Balearic warmth that will lend the record to summer listening. At times the synth lines become more probing, set to Fehlmann’s chunky beats, while at others there are washes of ambience that settle things down. Fehlmann instinctively knows when to move from one to the other, so the whole record is a natural progression.
