Holy Fuck
Latin
Young Turks

There’s a joyously unhinged quality to the music of Holy Fuck, and their second album ‘Latin’ burns pretty much the same bridges as the barnstorming, self-titled first album. In some tracks the band have (whisper it) mellowed ever so slightly, but that doesn’t mean they’ve lost their impact at all. Tracks like the bruising ‘Stay Lit’ carry all before them, creating a raw power even the Chemical Brothers might baulk at, while the funky as anything ‘Red Lights’, with its clever stop-start approach, crashes in as something of a shock after the atmospheric opener. That’s before we even get to ‘Stiletto’, pretty much encouraging you to dance your shoes off, and the all powerful ‘SHT MTN’, a whirlwind of energy. This is every bit as good as their debut album, a record that demands you go and see its creators at the very next live opportunity.
