Daedelus

OK, so it’s been around just over a month, but after several listens Daedelus’ latest album is starting to get worn in nicely, like the sharp suits worn by its author. There is some extraordinary music here, often a blend of futuristic soul and early house, with free elements that suggest the influence of John Coltrane and Sun Ra. The record breezes in on the vocal ‘Tailor-Made’, exotically sung by Milosh, while ‘In Tatters’ dominates the central section, taking a healthy amount of ‘Purple Rain’ on board. Elsewhere the busy Daedelus brings energy and exoticism to the table, having made an album that brings new and wondrous delights with every listen.
