In the racks some three decades after the original 1970s release date, CC has some of the most buttery tonsils in the game. It’s not a glass-cutting Jamaican falsetto, but a gentle, honeyed, note-holding love song crow (‘You Lie, You Cheat’, ‘It’s a Miracle’) also softening focussed commentary (‘Politricks’) and faith ‘(Give Me Strength’, ‘Send Another Joshua’). Nice touches on the Randy’s Studio/Bunny Lee production side bring trombones and glittery keyboards to boost this sauntering session for under the sun.
