I guess like Northern Soul you’d think its got to the stage were there’s not a lot left to discover musically. But then up pops a compilation of Disco gems like these and you’re excited all over again. Some of the names you may well recognise with the inclusion of Jackie Moore’s exquisite “This Time Baby” for example, although maybe like me a lot of these artists will be news to you. Still, its always a pleasure to get acquainted with then likes of Eddie Cheeba’s “Looking Good” and Velvet Hammer’s “Party Down” for the first time. The collection spans a hard to find selection of records from 1976 to 1982 and also features many DJ friendly re-edits by both Sean and Joey themselves. Essential listening!
