Mash ‘Cold September’ is fast becoming one of my favourite beach and poolside sunshine tunes. It’s got that sand in your speaker jack crackle, champagne cork pop snare, wavering keys and a melody line that makes the sun beam and blush with pride. The vocal is very Terence Trent D’Arby circa ‘Neither Fish Nor Flesh’ and the vibe is more addictive than ‘Breaking Bad’ and crystal meth rolled into one fat smoking musical joint and jam. Get it while you can, play it whenever you can.
