Nick Lascombes Bambola imprint has already impressed with its east-meets-west collisions in classy packaging. Here, Tokyo producer Lopp meets London-based Jamaican vocalist Sista Widey for an unlikely meshing of toasting and atmospheric electronica. The original rides an oddly dislocated funk groove before Orijahnal lends a lovely slant by removing beats and adding lush keyboards. Flashing plants space-dub vocals and sepulchral keyboards over another muted, quirky groove. Then Simon Palmskin Productions Richmond beams in on a warped drum-n-bass mutant tip. So unlike anything else that opinions will obviously be quite polarised, but definitely worth checking.
