Look away now if you are a pop snob – keep reading if your mind is open. If you liked Seinabo Sey’s ‘Hard Times’ Mr Rogers’ ‘I’ll Take You There’ has a similar gospel intro feel but works this into a downtempo electronic / piano house arrangement that blends synths dripping aloe and resin, vocals that suck helium and smoke forty fags a day, beats that click clack like Aiki-jo and top end sounds that cut through your grey matter like a surgical laser. It’s an unusual ‘what just happened then’ repeat player and a probable hit.
