If loud, grating, dark and grandiose hard techno makes you go weak at the knees, sit yourself down before your first listen through to Bastian Bux’s new ‘Teardrop EP’. ‘Tempus Fugit’ is a driving, powerful slab of ecclesiastical epic techno with sounds fat enough to squash everything in its path. Sounds like the sort of thing Iban Mendoza and Sebastian Gamboa would tear a club apart with. Great end of the night track. ‘Teardrop’ is an emotive, arpeggiated synth exciter that throws psychedelic visuals into your mind then propels you forwards with its Bugatti strength 1200bhp kick. ‘Anima’ is a pulsing, throbbing dance of swirling and soaring atmospherics. It’s vibrating cello, horn and string melody has that extra spark of life that effortlessly powers the dancefloor. To close ‘Titan’ works some wobbly, metallic Murk- sounding beats into a tribal percussive workout that is as relentless as it is fulfilling. Strong.
