Dutch producer Unders has seen and done it all. Having spent the last few years travelling the world playing on numerous continents as well as hosting his own label nights, he seems to be settling down with a single aim – producing timeless, high quality tracks. Surroundings is a brief, tantalising taste of the broad talents of Duncan Meulema. There are little hints of his travels when trickles of water and exotic birdsongs are sampled on ‘Garden Rain’. It’s weird and wonderful and the producers expressive element is there for all to see. The track all comes together midway through when wondrous sweet female vocals join the party and it’s a great spring time track blossoming. Both ‘Someone’s Ego’, and ‘Lazynoise’ are soothing, soft-core efforts, perfect for the early, early hours and perfectly combine to really give this EP the whole package.
